There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, where casino gambling is prohibited. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling hall, contains 150 one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel building that highlights numerous luxuries accompanying the casino, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
